What Is a Talent Release?
A Talent Release is a request for permission for a student to appear in photographs, video recordings, or audio recordings captured during approved education program activities or events.
These materials may be created by:
- Education Networks
- Education program delivery partners or sponsors
- Participating schools
- Approved media or communications representatives
A Talent Release allows these materials to be used for specific educational and communications purposes, as outlined below.
Providing consent is voluntary
Media and Recording Activities
During program activities or related events, photographs, video, or audio recordings may be captured in a supervised, educational setting.
These materials may be used to:
- Celebrate student participation and achievements
- Promote education programs and similar learning initiatives
- Support program reporting, evaluation, and community awareness
Media capture will always occur in an appropriate, supervised, and educational context.
Students will not be individually identified by full name unless separately agreed to by the school and family.
How Media May Be Used
If consent is provided, authorised organisations may use approved media materials to:
- Publish or share content in print or digital formats
- Display images or recordings on websites or digital platforms
- Include materials in reports, presentations, or education communications
- Media may be stored electronically and used across different formats for education, promotion, reporting, and recognition purposes.
Privacy and Protection of Student Information
Education Networks and its partners are committed to protecting the privacy of students and families.
Personal information collected as part of media activities (including images, audio, or video) is handled in accordance with:

- The Education Networks Privacy Policy
Personal information is collected only where necessary and is:
- Stored securely
- Accessed only by authorised personnel

Voluntary Participation
Participation in media and recording activities is entirely voluntary.
Students may take part in program activities even if consent is not provided
Choosing not to consent will not disadvantage a student’s participation or learning
Parents or guardians may withdraw consent at any time by contacting the school or program coordinator
No Financial Compensation
Parents and guardians should note that:
- No financial compensation is provided for the use of approved media materials
- Media will not be used in a misleading, inappropriate, or harmful manner
