Education Networks Student Digital Credentials
Purpose of Digital Credentials
Education Networks offers Digital Credentials to recognise the commitment, participation, and learning of students who take part in approved education programs delivered in partnership with schools and education providers.
Digital Credentials provide a contemporary way to acknowledge student learning while supporting reflection, pathway awareness, and recognition of skills developed through real‑world education experiences.
For students under 18 years of age, parent or guardian consent is required before a Digital Credential can be issued.
What Is a Digital Credential?
A Digital Credential is a secure, online record of a student’s participation in an education or learning experience.
Digital Credentials issued by Education Networks:
- Recognise student engagement and learning
- Validate skills, knowledge, or capabilities developed through a program
- Can be securely shared by students with educators, family members, and (if they choose) future employers or training providers
Digital Credentials are issued only following successful completion of an agreed learning activity.
Why Digital Credentials Are Used
Digital Credentials support students to:
- Reflect on what they have learned
- Develop awareness of future learning and career pathways
- Communicate their interests and experiences in a modern, portable format
As part of the credential process, students may be invited to provide short reflective responses about their learning experience. These reflections help Education Networks and partner organisations to:
- Improve the quality and design of education programs
- Support teachers in identifying learning relevance and pathway connections
- Report on education participation and outcomes in aggregated form
Providing reflective feedback is optional and does not affect a student’s eligibility to participate in the program.
Information Collected
To issue a Digital Credential, students may be asked to provide limited personal information, such as:
- Student name
- Email address
This information is used solely for the purpose of issuing, managing, and verifying the Digital Credential, unless additional consent is provided.
Privacy and Use of Student Information
Education Networks is committed to protecting the privacy of students and families.
- Personal information is collected only where necessary

Voluntary Participation and Alternatives
Participation in Digital Credentials is voluntary.
- Students who do not have parent or guardian consent will not be disadvantaged
- Where applicable, alternative recognition (such as a printed certificate) may be provided instead of a Digital Credential
Parents/guardians and students may withdraw consent at any time.
